Will it work in my car?

BigScrn runs anywhere there is a built-in web browser that allows streaming in Park. Today that means Tesla. As more EVs ship full browsers, this list will grow.

Tesla, supported today

Every current Tesla includes the browser BigScrn uses, plus Tesla Theater for the services Tesla bundles. Streaming needs the car in Park and a data connection (Premium Connectivity, Wi-Fi, or a hotspot).

  • Model 3 Full browser and Tesla Theater. Streams in Park on all recent software. Supported
  • Model Y Full browser and Tesla Theater. The large display makes it a favorite for charging stops. Supported
  • Model S Full browser and Theater, plus a rear display on newer cars for back-seat viewing. Supported
  • Model X Full browser and Theater, with the same rear-display option as the S. Supported
  • Cybertruck Full browser and Theater on the center display. Supported

Back-seat screen on Model S and X

The refreshed Model S and Model X (2021 and newer) add an 8-inch touchscreen between the front seats for rear passengers. It runs Tesla Theater, so the back seat can watch Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and the rest independently of the front display. Route that audio to Bluetooth headphones and a passenger can watch a movie while the driver keeps music up front.

Front vs. rear: BigScrn's full-screen trick is for the main center display and its web browser. The rear screen uses Tesla Theater's built-in apps, so for back-seat viewing, open those directly from the rear screen.

Other EVs, coming as browsers arrive

A growing list of EVs are adding in-car browsers and app stores. As each one allows streaming sites to play in Park, BigScrn will work there too, the launcher is just a web page. Rivian, Polestar, Lucid, and others are moving in this direction. If your car has a browser that plays video in Park, try the launcher and let us know how it goes.
